Andréanne's story starts like so many before her: as a young, 5 year-old girl from Quebec, she observes her parents with admiration as they play
in a musical group. The dream of becoming a singer gently slips into her heart.
During her childhood, she joins several choirs and church musical productions. She
also undertakes singing lessons; artists like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and
Mariah Carey accompany her in her daily practice. Her desire to further her training
leads her to college, where she develops her vocal technique and learns the art
of song-writing. At that moment, all the joys and pains accumulated over the years
and hidden in her heart are poured out on paper. She starts teaching voice lessons
in a music school and she discovers the essence of her message: youth, emotional
dependence, and self-esteem. The passion within her burns ever brighter.
In 2003, she starts the recording of the Oasis album with the renowned producer
Chris Miles, director of Mixdown Productions. Three years later, the francophone
album is launched, first in Europe in June and then in Quebec two months later.
That year, Andréanne garners three nominations at the Covenant Awards put on by
the Gospel Music Association Canada: Francophone Album of the Year, Francophone
Song of the Year, and New Artist of the Year. The night of the awards ceremony she
presents Humbly Lord, for which she will win the Francophone Song of the
Year. Oasis is also awarded French Album of the Year. Andréanne embarks on
a tour of Quebec and Europe to promote the album.
As Andréanne releases the English Oasis album in May of 2007, she is completing
a process started several years before when she first penned the songs that are
on the album. To the rest of Canada and beyond, she is releasing the message of
hope that is contained in her album.
Andréanne's music features a modern, upbeat musical style wrapped with softness
and depth. It reaches out to the broken-hearted, offering a message of hope to those
who seek an unconditional love, to those who only ask for a friend whom they can
count on.
